Pretoria, 3 August 2018. The antique and collectables fair that takes place on Women’s Day at the Voortrekker Monument will be under a brand new roof. After years of problems with the old roof that could not handle the storms in Gauteng, the new roof over this facility will place the market in a class of its own. The market will take place on Thursday, 9 August from 09:00 to 15:00.
We have a new trader at the market who had spent forty years as a diplomat and collected beautiful things from across the world. He sells fine English porcelain, art (South African, Russian and European), Persian rugs and tribal items predominantly from central Asia and India.
Please note that visitors to the market will not be allowed access to the site before 07:00. This rule was instituted last year already to ensure safety. The entrance fee is R30 per car.
There is a restaurant and several food stalls at the market, as well as parking and access for visitors with wheelchairs. Visitors should please leave their dogs and other pets at home as the Monument is situated in a nature reserve and dogs or other pets are not allowed on site.
Enquiries concerning the antique market may be directed to Geraldine Paulsen at 012 326 6770 or on firstname.lastname@example.org but please note that there are no open stalls available at this time.
