Why does the monument need donations?
Amid Covid-19, the Voortrekker Monument lost a lot of money with the tourism industry coming to a halt. The Voortrekker Monument is a heritage conservation site that does not receive money from the government. We, therefore, depend on our people to keep our doors open and continue to make our rich culture and heritage available to the public.
Where does the money go?
Money donated to the monument is used to keep the site accessible to the public and to continue to make all the sights, activities and facilities available to the public.
