TOEKOMSBOU MUSEUM THEATRE

The Afrikaner uses his chisel to carve open a future for the next generation! Come experience this story of the Afrikaner from 1902 to today, over 120 years in twelve scenes, in our beautiful Toekomsbou Museum Theatre!

General information
- The performance is exclusively in Afrikaans.
- The Museum Theatre is wheelchair-friendly.
- Only 10 people can be accommodated per time slot.
- Performances last 90 minutes.
- Every “future builder” attending the show will receive an attendance certificate. Therefore, please complete all details fully during the check-in process.
Theatre rules
- Payment for the performances must be made at least two days (48 hours) in advance via EFT. Please send the proof of payment to [email protected] and remember to bring your ticket and proof of payment with you.
- Payments for performances that fall on a weekend must be sent to [email protected] before Friday at 12:00.
- Reservations that have been made incorrectly will not be refunded. However, you can send an e-mail to [email protected] to change the date and/or time slot.
- Please check in at the reception area 15 minutes before the performance begins.
- No food or drinks are allowed during the performance.
- Please turn off all cell phones before the performance begins. No cameras are allowed.
- Visitors may not communicate with the actors during the performance unless communicated with.

ESCAPE ROOM
Welcome to the Toekomsbou Museum Theatre’s Escape Room! Here you are taken back in time, to 1902 at the end of the Anglo-Boer War. Trapped in the past, players have 60 minutes to move through the decades and find their way back to the future in a fun, yet challenging way.
The team has two goals:
- Decipher the clues to find the keys or passwords that will unlock each room – move through the museum by decade to the present within the 60-minute time limit.
- Within the first room, you will need to find a clue that will lead you to the first puzzle piece hidden in the second room. On the back of that puzzle piece is the clue that will lead you to the next puzzle pieces. Complete the puzzle for a special bonus at the end of your journey.
During the experience, participants not only learn more about Afrikaner history over the last 120 years, but also develop skills such as teamwork, communication, time management, problem-solving, logical reasoning and attentiveness. You don’t have to be a history expert to play along, but if you like brain teasers, riddles, puzzles and a touch of detective work, this experience is for you.
